CRNAs provide anesthesia services in North Dakota at:
- 98% of North Dakota hospitals which offer surgery & obstetrical services
- 4 out of 5 ambulatory surgery centers in the state
- Both Air Force bases
- Independent physician/dental clinics
CRNA's are the sole providers of anesthesia in 64% of North Dakota hospitals, all of which are in rural settings. CRNAs work in a team approach in conjunction with physician anesthesiologists in 11 of the 33 ND hospitals, all in urban areas. CRNAs provide anesthesia services in over 65% of the 26 million anesthetics given annually in the United States and give 85% of all anesthetics in rural areas.
